Other Projects

Here I have some of my miscellaneous projects I created regarding design or naval architecture.

This is not a show of skill, but more a show of my love for design & the ocean and its vessels.

There is a combination of personal, school, and art projects on this page.

IB Math HL Internal Assessment (2023)

This is my 23-page IB Mathematics HL Internal Assessment about upwind sailing. My paper researches & focuses on finding the optimal sailing angle to the wind, specifically for upwind sailing, using physics theory and mathematical concepts.

Visual Arts Exhibition (2024)

Part of the IB Visual Arts class is the final exhibition of the students’ works.

My theme was portraying the emotions that climate change has on younger generations and the real-world effects it has on nature, both via the medium of the ocean.

Catamaran delivery (2023-2024)

Our good friends living in the United States had bought a 39-foot catamaran, a 2017 Robert & Caine Leopard 40, in Tortola, BVI, in 2022. They asked me and my father if we could help them deliver their boat from the Moorings shipyard in Tortola to Nassau, Bahamas, an estimated 1,100 nautical mile trip.

I used my Christmas break and took my schoolwork with me so the trip wouldn’t interfere with my studying. The trip was three weeks long due to bad weather conditions for sailing and a delayed handover due to technical issues.

I am including this trip because I view it as an “internship” that, I feel, greatly expanded my knowledge and experience. I had to help fix mechanical issues with bilge pumps, the generator, the engines, the instruments, and other smaller problematic things. I also compared the Leopard with our own boat, the 35-foot wildcat, in regards to how it sailed. Also, when waiting for the boat handover, I spent time examining the other catamarans in the Moorings shipyard being worked on, and learned more about catamaran design.

Sauna Project (2022)

The old basement kitchen before any reconstruction.

A project at my grandparents’ house in southern Moravia. We wanted to transform an unused kitchen in the basement into something more useful.

First, all furniture had to be removed, then the bathtub demolished in the back. The original tiles had to be taken out. Then, the water lines and electricity were done, professionally. My job was the design features and style of the room, which included a sauna, shower, sink, radiator and waterfall. I also had to solve installing internet, lighting, and the sound system.

The Final Product:

Early Projects

At the end of elementary school, instead of “finals,” every 5th grader had to create a slideshow on any topic they wanted, and present it to the entire school.

The presentation was a hit, as the other kids seemed to like a presentation about yachts very much.

My school project poster for a science presentation in 5th grade (2015).

My first boat drawing (age 3).

My first sketch of a yacht concept (2018).
